Digital Media Reporting
CMF funded digital media projects that have been funded in the production stream are required to report on audience reach and consumption metrics at regular intervals.
Complete and submit the CMF Digital Tracking form (below) to receive your tracking script.
IMPORTANT NOTE TO CLIENTS:
The CMF has introduced a Digital Measurement Infrastructure (DMI) tagging protocol. As of April 1st, 2022, this DMI tagging protocol will replace the previous Digital Media Measurement Framework, expanding the CMF’s ability to measure Digital Media content and implement more strategic Key Performance Indicators. Please budget approximately 14 working days within your workflow to allow time for implementation, technical assistance and a 2-step validation process for the initial set up of a project. Please review the Digital Media Reporting – Summary of Changes available under the Program’s Need Help? section.
Digital Media Applicants are required to contact the CMF to request and successfully install CMF Digital Analytics tracking codes within 6 months of their initial contract signing date, or prior to the digital media component launch date, whichever comes first.Click here to access tech specs
Mandatory Tagging Requirements for Digital Media Components
Digital Media Applicants are required to contact the CMF to request and successfully install CMF Digital Analytics tracking codes within 6 months of their initial contract signing date, or prior to the digital media component launch date, whichever comes first. Failure to comply will result in the project being placed in default. It is the responsibility of the applicant to contact the CMF if an extension beyond this period is required.
Reporting Process for Applicants and Third-Party Hosting these DM Components
Based on the Digital Media contractual agreements DM applicants or 3rd parties hosting DM components must begin reporting prior to or at the beginning of the launch of their project. Applicants are required to follow this process in order to be in compliance with their reporting obligations.
The first obligation is to install CMF Digital Analytics tracking codes to the DM Component prior to the DM Component’s commercial release or live date of the DM Component. DM Components with multiple content types (i.e. video and games) must be identified and measured as separate components in order to track and report accurate measurement metrics. Applicants producing DM components that are not taggable due to the nature of the platform must contact [email protected], and we will determine how best to measure project metrics on a case-by-case basis. Complete and submit the CMF Digital Analytics Tracking form to receive your tracking script.
All applicants are required to submit a gross sales report to Telefilm on the first day of February and August, in each year for the periods ending on the last day of December and June, for the first thirty-six (36) months following the date of disbursement of the Phase II Payment, and thereafter annually on the first day of February for the year ending on the last day of December for four (4) years. This is administered through your eTelefilm account. If you have lost your password or are having trouble logging in please contact [email protected].
Finally all applicants are required to complete a Success Report to the CMF at the same frequency rate as the gross sales.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
You will be asked to provide monthly uploads directly from your own analytics providers. This will be done via the Data Source Upload Tools.
You can still launch your project given that the data is provided to the CMF at least 1 month post-launch. However, a webpage is required to link the data source upload files to the Adobe report suite. You will be asked to provide monthly uploads directly from your own analytics providers but the code on the webpage must be validated by the CMF prior to uploading the data.
The Adobe Experience Platform SDKs give you controls to manage consent and privacy obligations under the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Developers can retrieve locally stored identities and set opt status flags for data collection and transmission. Before implementing these controls, please review Adobe’s GDPR documentation.
