Funded Projects

Funded Projects Database

The Canada Media Fund wants to keep applicants informed of funding decisions and results throughout the year. The database below contains projects that have been announced during the current fiscal year and all funded projects from prior years. New results will be added as they are published.
There are two types of announcements: Funding Decisions and Funding Results.

For information on funding results prior to 2010, please refer to the archives.

Funding Decisions

Funding Decisions indicate the selection of projects which have qualified for the CMF support but have yet to finalize all contracts. Only programs using a selective, competitive process to allocate funding are subject to a funding decision. These selective programs are: Experimental Stream, Aboriginal, English POV, Francophone Minority, and Diverse Languages.

A Funding Decision is posted on our website when decisions become available. Please note that there is one decision per application closing date. The decisions and funding commitments posted on the website are preliminary, as all requests must undergo a contracting process. Funding is not final until contracts are signed.

Funding Results

Funding results indicate approved and contracted applications for all convergent and experimental stream programs. The funding results are published on a quarterly basis.

Evaluation Jury

We rely on industry experts to contribute to the evaluation of leading-edge Canadian interactive productions.

Jury Members

Information in the funded projects database is correct as of the date of posting. The online database is updated at different times throughout the year, but not currently updated on a regular basis to reflect changes that may occur after posting, including changes in the applicant name or ownership of the project. If a project is subsequently withdrawn or refused funding, it will still appear on this page for informational purposes.

Synopsis

Amélie is a 9-year-old girl who is full of life, mischievous and engaged. Newton is a greedy yet endearing cat that is quick on the draw and has a caustic sense of humour. A tight family, yet a sometimes tiring big brother. Faithful and incredible friends. A neighbour that you’d like to sell off. A shelter for abandoned pets. A head full of ideas. Exciting adventures that sometimes prove to be flighty. Welcome to the world of Amélie et compagnie! At the end of year 1, whereas Amélie was ready to give up the idea of having an animal shelter, she fell upon her mother’s personal diary, in which her mother wrote that she was convinced that Amélie would follow in her tracks and take care of animals as she herself did. This discovery gives Amélie wings. In year 2, Amélie et compagnie! makes a powerful comeback, and Amélie is more than ever before intent on reopening her mother’s shelter!

Synopsis

Year 3 begins a few days after the end of year 2. Amélie and her family are still in shock after receiving an official letter from municipal officials ordering the immediate closure of a neighbourhood refuge caught up in non-regulatory activities. Amélie will try to appeal to BOC, Pyc’s father who is also a municipal councillor, to accelerate the municipality’s procedures underway. However, BOC, tired of living near a refuge, will take great pleasure in not helping her out at all. One day, Amélie realizes that she hears Adèle, then a toad. Pyc, learning that Amélie also hears other animals, entertains the secret desire to be able to communicate with animals himself. He skillfully manages to convince Amélie to place her animals in her garage. This will enable him to get closer to them and carry out a series of farfetched tests to elucidate the mystery of Dr. Doolittle.
