Toronto, August 30, 2018 – Following an article published today in La Presse, the Canada Media Fund (CMF) released the following statement from Valerie Creighton, President and CEO, related to management changes at the CMF.
“On behalf of the CMF, I would like to congratulate Stéphane Cardin on his move to Netflix, just announced today, where he will take on the role of Director of Public Policy for Canada. I am certain that the Canadian screen-based sector will continue to have in Stéphane a staunch ally and supporter and that in his new role, he will continue to be a champion of Canadian production.”
“We thank Stéphane for his tireless efforts over the past twelve years. He was instrumental in working with CMF management, staff and Board to position the organization for the future and we wish him all the best, as he takes on new and exciting challenges at Netflix.”
“I’m pleased to announce that, as of September 5, the CMF will add a new resource to its management team. To ensure the CMF continues its important work of gathering and curating industry and market intelligence, the CMF is happy to welcome Catherine Mathys to fill the position of Director of Industry and Market Trends. Catherine is an award-winning Québec journalist with decades of expertise in media analysis and coverage of new technologies. She is based in Montréal and will bring with her a new perspective on our relationships with content consumption and technology, and its impact on the Canadian audiovisual industry.”
