Toronto, July 27, 2017 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today an investment of more than $4.3M in development and marketing support to innovative, Canadian digital media projects as part of the first round of funding in the Experimental Stream’s 2017-2018 Innovation Program.
The CMF has contributed more than $76.3M in development and marketing support to 358 interactive digital media projects since the Experimental Stream was created in 2010.
A total of 13 Canadian companies received support totaling $2.9M to develop nine games, three rich interactive media, and one software application. Click here to access a list of new projects that received development support.
Development support provides funding for the conceptualization of an eligible project and/or for the development of the creative and technical elements of an eligible project and the drafting of a product proposal for business development and financing purposes.
The CMF will invest $1.4M in marketing support to six interactive digital media projects including three games, two rich interactive media and one software application. Click here to access a list of projects that received marketing support.
Marketing support provides funding for the marketing and promotion of an eligible project such as the creation of national and international marketing campaigns, design costs, creation and market-testing of advertising, use of the Internet for promotion or transactions, and more.
