Toronto, March 7, 2019 – Actors Michelle Mylett (Katy) and Dylan Playfair (Reilly) from Crave’s award-winning original comedy series, Letterkenny, will act as special hosts at the SXSW Canada House, and brand ambassadors to the recently launched MADE | NOUS campaign. SXSW Conference and Festival 2019 is taking place March 8 to 17 in Austin, Texas.

For the very first time at SXSW, a unified Canada House (Bungalow, 92 Rainey Street, Austin) will feature the best of Canadian music, film, television, and new media under one roof. Spearheaded by Telefilm Canada, in partnership with CMF among others, Canada House will be a bustling social centre, with activities, networking opportunities, live music showcases, and late-night DJ sets. Mylett and Playfair will host a Meet the Canadians Reception at Canada House on Sunday, March 10 at 6 pm (local time), where they will also represent the MADE | NOUS campaign.
MADE | NOUS celebrates the work of Canadian talent and creators in entertainment, both here and around the world. Canada is home to award-winning talent in television, film and digital entertainment, which has captured global audiences. The campaign shines a spotlight on the achievements of Canadians like Mylett and Playfair who contribute to the creation of exceptional Canadian content such as Letterkenny, and encourages audiences to discover and celebrate their work.
The popular half-hour comedy series Letterkenny revolves around the dustups Wayne (Jared Keeso), his sister Katy (Mylett) and their buddies get into with their small-town Ontario rivals; the Hicks, the Skids and the Hockey Players (Reilley, played by Playfair). A top performer and marquee program for Crave in Canada, the series launched last year on the premium streaming service Hulu to audiences in the US. The series has also generated brand extensions including sought after Letterkenny merchandise, the highly successful Puppers Premium Lager and Letterkenny Live!, a 90 minute comedy experience featuring the cast from the show. Created by Keeso, Letterkenny is produced by New Metric Media in partnership with DHX Media, Playfun Games, in association with Bell Media and with funding from Canada Media Fund (CMF).
