Toronto, October 16, 2018 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF), released today the first episode of its original podcast series entitled Now & Next. The podcast will include in-depth interviews with experts providing a closer look at emerging trends, as well as the digital transformation of the media and entertainment industry. Now & Next is produced by the Canada Media Fund and hosted by digital media researcher and experienced radio personality, Leora Kornfeld.

Toronto and Montreal, October 12, 2018 — The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Telefilm Canada, in partnership with CBC/Radio-Canada, are featuring an inspiring group of Canadians who lead some of Canada’s major production companies at this year’s MIPCOM, taking place from October 15 to 18 in Cannes. They will take part in a panel entitled “Showbizz Success In Today's World,” moderated by Catherine Tait, President and CEO of CBC/Radio-Canada.

Toronto, October 1, 2018 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today the reopening of the Corus-CMF Page to Pitch Program, with a program budget set at $1M. Applications for funding can be submitted from now until November 20, 2018. Funding through this program can be triggered through a commitment from any broadcaster licensed by the CRTC, including private, public, educational, specialty, pay-per-view broadcasters and CRTC-licensed VOD services.

The event brought together parliamentarians; the on-and off-screen talent behind several Canadian productions; as well as broadcasters, audiovisual industry leaders and members of the public service.

Toronto, September 4, 2018 — As announced on July 19, the Canada Media Fund (CMF) will embark on a cross-country consultation starting on September 10 in Moncton, New-Brunswick as part of a comprehensive, national consultation process. The consultation includes focus groups in 18 cities, in all provinces and territories.
