Toronto, March 7, 2019 – Actors Michelle Mylett (Katy) and Dylan Playfair (Reilly) from Crave’s award-winning original comedy series, Letterkenny, will act as special hosts at the SXSW Canada House, and brand ambassadors to the recently launched MADE | NOUS campaign. SXSW Conference and Festival 2019 is taking place March 8 to 17 in Austin, Texas.

Toronto, February 28, 2019 — The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Shaw Rocket Fund (SRF) today announced a new partnership to fund the production of Canadian digital animated series for children and youth audiences that encourages the use of new technology. Applications for financing in this Program must be submitted to SRF by April 10, 2019.

Montreal, February 26, 2019 – The Canada Media Fund today launched a French-language podcast series of six episodes that probe as many trends that are currently reshaping the media and entertainment industries. Futur et médias is an opportunity for listeners to better grasp the issues of the hour in these sectors through in-depth interviews with leading experts. Its first season will explore the following themes: digital distribution, podcasting, the blockchain, location-based virtual reality, youth content and data.

Toronto, February 12, 2019 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today that 49 innovative digital media projects would receive a total of $10M in funding through two of its programs. A total of $3.9M will be invested in 21 projects through the second round of funding of its Experimental Stream’s Innovation Program, Prototyping and an additional $2.2M are being invested in 10 projects through the Experimental Stream’s Innovation Program, Marketing and Promotion. A further $3.9M are being invested in 18 projects through the Web Series Pilot Program.

Toronto/Berlin, February 12, 2019 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB), announced today that four interactive digital media projects will receive over $435,000 in funding through the Canada-Germany Digital Media Incentive.

Toronto (Canada) and Mons (Belgium), January 21, 2019 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Wallimage, the development fund for audiovisual content in Wallonia (Belgium), today announced $599,000 in funding to support the coproduction of two virtual reality projects under the Canada–Wallonia Digital Media Incentive for Multiplatform Projects.
