The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced, at the Banff World Media Festival, the release of two new research projects. As a catalyst for the Canadian television and digital media industry, the CMF creates, aggregates and disseminates meaningful industry intelligence to assist in its policy decisions and to provide information to its partners and stakeholders. The new publications announced today, provide new perspectives on the convergence of television and connected platforms and the state of financing of the interactive media sector in Canada.

The Canada Media Fund announced today that it contributed more than $3.8 million dollars in 13 projects that applied to the Francophone Minority Program in the first round. Since its inception in 2010, the CMF has supported a total of 71 projects by providing more than $23 million to francophone minority productions.

The Canada Media Fund (CMF) congratulates all winners at the NUMIX 2012 Awards. The awards were presented yesterday evening at a gala held at the Monument-National in Montreal. The NUMIX competition is an initiative of the Regroupment des producteurs multimedia (RPM) to recognize excellence in Quebec-based multimedia productions and to showcase the quality and creative talent of Quebec’s digital media companies.

The Canada Media Fund (CMF) has embarked on a cross-country Outreach tour which started on May 7th in Toronto to answer questions regarding the changes to the CMF Program Guidelines for 2012-2013, the 2011-2012 funding results and the application process. The following calendar was updated to reflect new times and locations confirmed for the following cities: Calgary, Charlottetown, Edmonton, Fredericton, Halifax, Moncton, Regina, Saskatoon, St. John’s, Whitehorse and Yellowknife.

The Canada Media Fund (CMF) launched today a Digital Media Performance Measurement Framework, as the result of a consultation with industry stakeholders. This new tool is designed to measure the performance of digital media projects funded through the CMF’s Convergent and Experimental Streams through a process that includes classifying projects and collecting metrics on key performance indicators.
