Canada-Luxembourg Codevelopment and Coproduction Incentive reopens
Toronto/Montréal, August 16, 2022 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Film Fund Luxembourg (FFL) are proud to reopen the Canada-Luxembourg Codevelopment and Coproduction Incentive for Audiovisual Projects.
To be eligible, audiovisual projects must be submitted by production companies meeting the criteria of both the CMF and FFL—please click here to view the Guidelines. Projects funded at the development stage must be drama or animated series, feature-length animation, or digital media projects. The Incentive also funds eligible digital media projects at the production stage, specifically in the areas of virtual or augmented reality, transmedia, or new technologies.
The annual combined budget of the Incentive, now in its fifth consecutive year, is CAN$800,000 (approximately €600,000), with each organization contributing half. The total maximum combined contribution for each funded development project (television, animated feature film, or digital media) is CAN$100,000 (or approximately €65,000), and the total maximum combined contribution for each digital media project at the production stage is CAN$500,000 (or approximately €320,000).
A committee of CMF and FFL representatives will evaluate all eligible projects according to a set of criteria, including the cultural value of the project, the target audience, the team track record, and the feasibility of the project.
The Canada-Luxembourg Codevelopment and Coproduction Incentive has provided $3.3M in funding for 12 codevelopment and coproduction projects over the last four years.
