Canadian and New Zealand digital media producers invited to connect online

First google Hangouts to take place on Wednesday, Oct 29 at 4 p.m. ET

Toronto, October 27, 2014.  The Canada Media Fund and NZ On Air announced today that Canadian and New Zealand digital media producers who wish to benefit from the Canada-New Zealand Digital Media Fund, will be able to take part in a Google Hangouts scheduled to take place on Wednesday, October 29th at 4 p.m. (ET).  This online event is designed to facilitate meetings between New Zealand and Canadian applicants.

To participate, applicants must have a google account (i.e. Gmail) and must send the following information to Nathalie Clermont, Director, Program Management at [email protected].

  • Your name
  • Your Google account email address
  • The name of your company
  • A brief description of your company
  • Your company website URL

Applicants will then receive further instructions to connect to the Google Hangout.

Earlier this month, the Canada Media Fund and NZ On Air announced a joint venture to establish a million dollar matching fund to encourage the coproduction of innovative digital media projects for online audiences.

The total amount of funding available is CDN $1 million, with $500,000 contributed by each the CMF and NZ On Air to fund up to 3 eligible projects. The total maximum contribution for each funded project shall be CDN $400,000. The contribution from each funding organization to each project will be determined on a case by case basis.
