CMF to invest over $7.5M in seven interactive digital media projects

Toronto, August 19, 2024 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced the seven interactive digital media (IDM) projects that will receive a total of $7,604,703 through the spring 2024 round of our Innovation & Experimentation Program. 

The selected applicants are five companies based in Quebec, one in Ontario, and one in Alberta. The funded projects consist of five video games and two interactive and/or immersive experiences.

Funding decisions were made by a jury of industry peers and experts tasked with weighing submitted projects according to, among other critera, the team, financial viability, marketing strategy, and whether a project is innovative and could contribute to the advancement of the sector through its success. For this round, the jury was composed of Dany Lepage, François Dominic Laramée, Joshua Nilson, Marie-Pier Gauthier, Rob Elsworthy, and Victoria Evans.

The Innovation & Experimentation Program funds Canadian interactive digital media content and software applications that are innovative and leading-edge. The CMF will accept requests for funding through the program’s second round for 2024, from August 27 to September 10, 2024.
