Montreal, September 10, 2026 — Today, NOUS | MADE has launched the new campaign C’est à NOUS !, fronted by comedian Arnaud Soly. Soly, alongside seven digital content creators, will reimagine iconic scenes and characters from beloved series and films, inviting audiences to (re)discover Canadian content.

Arnaud Soly will be joined by Douaa Kachache, Emy Lalune, Pascale de Blois, Rosalie Vaillancourt, Thomas Bédard, Tommy-Lee Salvas, and Zoé Duval. Together, the group will put a humorous spin on classic, recent, and upcoming works, and let audiences know where to enjoy them. On the docket: Les Boys and Elvis Gratton reimagined by Arnaud Soly, sketches paying tribute to Heated Rivalry and Le cœur a ses raisons, and a Denis Villeneuve-style retelling of La guerre des tuques. Artist cameos including André Robitaille, Mélissa Désormeaux-Poulin, Maude Landry, and Virginie Fortin will spice up the series, while Mathieu Bouillon will serve as script editor.

“So many homegrown works have left their mark on us, often without us even realizing it. With this crew, we want to play with these references, put our own spin on them, and above all, make audiences want to rediscover them. If we can introduce someone to a series or film from here that they didn't know about before, then it’s mission accomplished,” says comedian and NOUS campaign ambassador Arnaud Soly.

Coming soon to social media

The first few parodies will hit NOUS social media channels, as well as the creators’ channels, on September 9. Around twenty videos will be published this fall, with information on where to watch the featured works, making them easier to discover and stream.

You can watch the first videos here, here and here.

To launch the campaign, Soly and his team will also be on hand at the Prix Gémeaux awards ceremony on Sunday, September 13.

Putting homegrown stories in the spotlight

Supported by the Canada Media Fund and Telefilm Canada, the C’est à NOUS ! campaign will help audiences discover Canadian and Quebecois audiovisual productions by meeting them where they already are: on social media.

The campaign also underscores the growing role content creators play in the cultural ecosystem and their ability to build bridges between audiovisual works and new audiences.

“We have an incredible wealth of Canadian stories, films, and series, but making sure they reach audiences—especially younger ones—is more important than ever,” says Canada Media Fund CEO and President Valerie Creighton. “With C’est à NOUS !, we’re using humour, creativity, and social media to celebrate this content and invite audiences to discover it.”

“The challenge isn't just making homegrown content available, it's making sure they're chosen,” adds Telefilm Canada Executive Director and CEO Julie Roy. “This campaign creates the opportunity to connect with stories that reflect our culture, our imagination, and our diversity.”

An upcoming podcast with George Stroumboulopoulos

For the English Canadian market, the MADE | NOUS campaign will launch a new podcast hosted by George Stroumboulopoulos. Recorded in his home studio in Toronto, the podcast will feature in-depth conversations with leading figures from Canada’s audiovisual industry.

With its two ambassadors, MADE | NOUS continues its mission of celebrating the stories, talents and works that bring us together from coast to coast.

MADE | NOUS: celebrating what brings us together

Over the past several years, MADE | NOUS has rolled out several initiatives celebrating the richness of Canada’s stories.

The Stories that MADE US (2025–2026): In this documentary series, we followed George Stroumboulopoulos take a road trip through seven provinces and territories to dive deep into the unifying power of our stories.

MADE Here (2025): Featuring Emily Hampshire, the MADE Here campaign highlighted that when one of us makes it, we all do.

MADE Better (2023): This unforgettable stunt, featuring billboards across Los Angeles, celebrated homegrown talent making waves in Hollywood.

Seek More (2021): An award-winning campaign centred on diversity, equity, and inclusion on our screens, featuring Shamier Anderson, Devery Jacobs and Simu Liu, among others.

About Arnaud Soly
Known by some for his internet videos and by others for his presence on the radio and his television appearances, Arnaud Soly spends most of his time doing stand-up comedy on stage. His background as an improv comic has given him a strong dose of authenticity and creativity, which he puts to good use in his singular brand of comedy. You can catch him on Noovo in his sketch show "Club Soly." He is also currently touring across all of Quebec with his second one-man show, Bon jus.

Toronto, September 3, 2026 — The Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced that seven projects will receive a total of $939,999 through the 2026–2027 round of the Changing Narratives Fund.

The organizations selected for funding are all led by members of Diverse Communities and working to create more equitable pathways into Canada’s audiovisual sector. Four are based in Quebec, one in Ontario, one in British Columbia, and one in Alberta. Three projects will be led in English, and four in French.

View selected projects

The selected projects include an initiative aimed at strengthening the representation and professional capacities of filmmakers and producers from underrepresented communities in the Canadian documentary sector, as well as a plan designed to increase Indigenous and equity-deserving creators’ access to the international immersive dome media sector.

“The funding allocated through the Changing Narratives Fund is already making a meaningful difference in the participation of underrepresented creators in the screen sector and in the cultural economy more largely,” says CMF Vice-President of Industry Development Joy Loewen. “Through mentorship, training, and work placement initiatives, to name only a few, this Fund has been instrumental in growing cohorts of skilled creators. We thank the Department of Canadian Heritage for this initiative and for their trust in the CMF.”

Launched by the Department of Canadian Heritage in 2024–2025, the Changing Narratives Fund was created to address systemic gaps in professional development, mentorship, and leadership pathways for creators from Indigenous, Black, Racialized and ethno-religious minorities, Persons with disabilities/Disabled persons, and 2SLGBTQ+ communities. The CMF administered a $4,456,246 portion of the total $10M made available through the Fund. A first instalment of $2,456,246 was allocated in 2024–2025, and a second disbursement of $940,000 was allocated in 2025-2026.

With this investment, the CMF has completed the administration and disbursement of our portion of the Changing Narratives Fund.

Vancouver, August 11, 2026 – The Interlink Group, along with a consortium comprised of the Vancouver Asian Film Festival, the Racial Equity Screen Office, and Muslims in Media, and the Canada Media Fund, today announced the signing of an Expression of Interest to explore the creation of the Canada Global Media Tech Fund.

This marks the first step toward developing what is envisioned as a potential public-private investment fund for building globally competitive Canadian media and technology companies and accelerating the creation and commercialization of intellectual property capable of reaching audiences worldwide.

This fund would represent a new model for international collaboration in the media and technology sectors that would complement Canada’s screen-sector ecosystem, creating new pathways for investment, co-production, technology development, content creation, and international distribution across a range of sectors, including film, television, digital media, gaming, creator economy ventures, artificial intelligence, virtual production, and emerging content technologies.

The venture would also establish Canada as a strategic gateway between North America, the Gulf Cooperation Council, Asia-Pacific, and other high-growth markets.

Quotes

"Canada has developed a robust and evolving framework for content creation and production that blends regulatory support, industry innovation, and a growing creator economy, making it a notable model globally. This fund will transition Canada from a model to a partner, exporting the financial media architecture that empowers sovereign-level media investors to protect their cultural sovereignty while driving mutual economic growth through resilient, global co-production networks."

- Shezad Rokerya, Chairman, Interlink Group

"The future of media will be built through international collaboration. The Canada Global Media Tech Fund is an opportunity to connect creative talent, investment capital, technology innovation and market access across continents while positioning Canada as a trusted partner in the development of globally relevant intellectual property."

- Barbara Lee, Founder, Vancouver Asian Film Festival and Racial Equity Screen Office

"The Canada Global Media Tech Fund represents an opportunity to build a truly global value chain for media and technology - from development and production to commercialization and international distribution. By aligning public resources, private investment and strategic international partnerships, we can create a platform capable of generating economic and cultural returns across multiple markets."

- Ali Elashram, Founding Director, Muslims in Media

“We are excited to explore the creation of this potential new fund. Innovation is essential to strengthening the industry’s resilience and sustainability, alongside diversification through bold and imaginative funding models. This work is directly in line with key objectives in the CMF’s 2026-2029 Strategic Plan, namely to open pathways to global markets and expand opportunities for content driven by market demand.”

- Valerie Creighton, President and CEO, Canada Media Fund

About the Canada Media Fund
Supported by the Government of Canada and Canada’s cable, satellite, and IPTV distributors, the Canada Media Fund (CMF) is a not-for-profit organization that invests in Canadian creators and companies to tell stories that reflect and connect us all.
Toronto, May 21, 2026 — The Canada Media Fund (CMF) welcomes the decision issued today by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) establishing a modernized Canadian programming expenditure (CPE) framework for all broadcasting entities operating in Canada.

“Establishing clear and equitable across-the-board CPE is a critical step toward a modernized broadcasting system that works for Canadian and Indigenous creators, audiences, and the industry as a whole,” said Valerie Creighton, President and CEO, CMF. “This decision sends a signal that every player in the ecosystem has a role to play in financially supporting and promoting the stories that reflect and connect us.”

As part of the decision, the CRTC eliminated a previous flexibility that allowed streaming services to redirect 75 per cent of their CMF contribution to Canadian content expenditures. Streaming services must now annually contribute two per cent of their broadcasting revenues to the CMF for the creation of Canadian content, in addition to other requirements.

The decision is the latest in the CRTC’s work to modernize Canada’s broadcasting framework around three key themes: high-quality Canadian content, a sustainable system, and clear and predictable rules.

“I thank Chairperson Eatrides, the Vice-Chairs, Commissioners, and staff for their careful and considered work in arriving at this decision,” adds Valerie Creighton. “The CMF will study the decision closely to determine its potential impacts. We remain committed to collaborating with government, the regulator, and industry partners to make sure its implementation serves the long-term interests of Canadian and Indigenous creators and our country’s audiovisual sector.”

About the Canada Media Fund
Supported by the Government of Canada and Canada’s cable, satellite, and IPTV distributors, the Canada Media Fund (CMF) is a not-for-profit organization that invests in Canadian creators and companies to tell stories that reflect and connect us all.
