Sector Development Support

The CMF’s Sector Development Support is project-based funding to support industry initiatives which demonstrate the potential to positively impact Canada’s audiovisual ecosystem by addressing industry gaps in distinct and identified areas, including Canada’s regions and Indigenous and Equity-Deserving Communities. Successful projects should lead to tangible benefits for multiple members of the screen-based sector and cannot primarily benefit any one creator or company.

There are two funding streams for Sector Development: Workforce Advancement and Organizational Advancement.

• WORKFORCE ADVANCEMENT: Supports capacity building and market access activities focused on training, apprenticeships and work placements, business skills development, and market-ready preparation that lead to industry success. We will accept applications during our spring intake.
• ORGANIZATIONAL ADVANCEMENT: Supports industry organizations to strengthen their expertise and advance their mandates, fostering stability and growth for screen sector organizations and the communities and creators they serve. We will accept applications during our summer intake.
