The Broadcaster Envelope Program – Diverse Languages supports productions reflecting Canadian diversity by funding projects in languages other than English, French, or Indigenous-Canadian languages.
Beginning in 2024-2025, the CMF will contribute to projects at the production stage through envelope allocations, which are allotments of CMF Program funds made to Canadian Broadcasters with a track record of supporting third-language programming.
Through this Program, the CMF allocates funding envelopes allocations to Canadian Broadcasters in an amount that reflects their track record of supporting Canadian programming. Broadcasters commit these funds to Canadian projects that they believe will appeal to their viewers. Even though Broadcasters receive a funding envelope allocation, the actual funding is paid directly to the Eligible Applicants according to a payment schedule.
