Indigenous Screen Office, CMF invest $480,000 in three interactive and immersive projects

Toronto, May 13, 2026 — The Indigenous Screen Office (ISO) and the Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced a joint $480,000 investment in three Indigenous projects—a video game, a video game series, and an extended reality (XR) installation. These projects were selected for funding through the ISO’s 2025–2026 Interactive and Immersive Program.

The projects are:

  • Dàsa, a video game by British Columbia based Spotted Fawn Productions Inc. Total allocation: $200,000.
  • The Seven Dancers, a video game series by Quebec-based Revital Software. Total allocation: $180,000.
  • Waves of Buffalo, an XR installation created by Saskatchewan’s Downstream Documentary Productions Inc. Total allocation: $100,000.

Part of the ISO’s Story Fund stream, the Interactive and Immersive Program allocates funds for the development and production of high-calibre videogames, AR/VR/XR works, apps, and immersive and/or interactive projects that include audiovisual content. The CMF has been contributing to the program’s budget since 2024, increasing access for Indigenous creators in the digital, interactive, and immersive space.
