13 productions receive $7.5M under Francophone Minority Program
Toronto, July 6, 2018 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced that 13 convergent projects have been awarded $7.5M in funding as part of the first round of financing under the Francophone Minority Program. This program supports productions which reflect the realities of living in French-language communities outside Québec. The CMF has provided $89M in funding to 218 projects through this program since 2010.
Canadian audiences will have a chance to enjoy these new productions created for television and digital media from many different regions of the country: one production from British Columbia, two from Manitoba, three from New Brunswick, one from Nova Scotia and six from Ontario. There will be three drama productions, six documentaries, and four children’s and youth productions.
