Canada and Northern Ireland reopen codevelopment incentive

Toronto, May 5, 2020 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Northern Ireland Screen (NIS) announced today the reopening of their funding incentive for the development of screen-based projects between Canadian and Northern Ireland producers. Click here to access the guidelines.

Now in its third consecutive year, the Canada-Northern Ireland Codevelopment Incentive for Audiovisual Projects funds the codevelopment of television projects in the drama, documentary, animation or education genres, or digital media content made for other platforms, including web series, video games, transmedia projects, and virtual or augmented reality.

The amount available for this year of the Incentive will be CAD$200,000 (£114,000) with half the funds contributed by each funding organisation. The total maximum contribution for each project funded through the Incentive will be CAD$50,000 (£29,000).

Since its inception, eight projects received a total investment of nearly $400,000 (£228,000) through this incentive.

Producers interested in applying to receive funding can apply until the August 14, 2020 deadline.
