Canada-Germany digital media projects receive over $707K in funding
Toronto/Berlin, October 29, 2021 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB), announced today that four interactive digital media projects will receive $707,940 in funding through the Canada-Germany Digital Media Incentive.
The following projects will receive funding as part of this incentive.

Of the selected projects, three are at the development stage and one is at the production stage. One is a game, two are VR-Experiences and one is a digital linear series. Two of the production companies are from British Columbia, one from Ontario, and one from Québec.
The program is designed to encourage creative producers from each territory to collaborate on the codevelopment and coproduction of digital projects by facilitating the creation of innovative content. By funding projects that use new technologies to tell culturally relevant stories, both organizations demonstrate their continued support for original storytelling in the digital age.
Projects were evaluated and chosen by a selection committee composed of representatives from both funding organizations. Projects were required to be a collaboration involving at least one eligible Canadian producer and at least one eligible producer based in the states of Berlin or Brandenburg.
