Canada-Israel digital media projects receive over $950K in funding

Toronto/Jerusalem, December 14, 2017 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF), the Jerusalem Film Fund of the Jerusalem Development Authority (JFF) announced today that six interactive digital media projects will receive of over $950K in funding through the Canada-Jerusalem Codevelopment and Coproduction Incentive. The following projects will receive funding as part of this incentive.

Of the selected projects, five are VR applications and one is a social media app intended for children; one of the Canadian producers is from British Columbia, three are from Ontario and two from Québec.

The program is designed to encourage creative producers from each country to collaborate on the development of digital projects by facilitating the creation of innovative content. By funding projects that use new technologies to tell culturally relevant stories, both countries demonstrate their continued support for original storytelling in the digital age.

Projects were evaluated and chosen by a selection committee composed of representatives from both funding organizations. Projects were required to be a collaboration involving at least one eligible Canadian producer and at least one eligible producer based in the city of Jerusalem.

About the Jerusalem film fund of the Jerusalem Development Authority
