CMF contributes $3M to fund 11 Diverse Languages Projects
Toronto, October 24, 2016 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today $3M in funding to 11 convergent projects that applied to the Diverse Languages Program. The Program supports productions that reflect Canada’s diversity by funding projects in languages other than English, French, or Aboriginal languages.
Of the 11 projects, three are children’s and youth productions, four are documentaries, three are dramas and one is a docu-drama. Audiences will enjoy productions Italian, Mandarin, Persian, Punjabi, Russian, and Spanish. All productions have a television component and 10 of them have a related digital media component attached.

Since 2010, the CMF has provided $13.9M to 68 projects as part of its Diverse Languages Program.
