CMF invests $15.5M in 19 interactive digital media projects

Toronto, January 14, 2026 — The Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced the 19 projects selected to receive a total of $15,508,889 in production funding through the fall 2025 round of our Innovation and Experimentation and Commercial Projects programs. 

Innovation and Experimentation 

Eight games, two interactive/immersive experiences, and one software application will receive a total of $7,963,326. Six of the projects will be produced in Quebec, three in British Columbia, and two in Ontario. Seven are bilingual projects, three are in English, and one is in French.

Projects funded through our Innovation and Experimentation Program are Canadian interactive digital media content and software applications that are innovative and leading-edge.  

Funding decisions were made by a jury of industry professionals composed of Michael Dell’Ova, Rob Elsworthy, Stefanie Pecore, Nadia Seraiocco, Adam Sigel, and Susannah Skeri. Applications were evaluated, among other criteria, according to originality, quality, sophistication, innovative characteristics, and potential of legacy for the industry. 

Commercial Projects  

Seven games and one interactive/immersive experience will receive a total of $7,545,563 through the Commercial Projects Program. Five of the successful applicants are Quebec-based, two are established in Ontario, and one in Manitoba. Sixprojects will be bilingual and two will be in English.

Our Commercial Projects Program funds projects that have a greater probability of commercial success.  

Funding applications were evaluated based on their potential to attain stated commercial objectives, demonstrate business opportunity, and achieve profitability. Funding decisions were made by a jury composed of Katayoun Dibamehr, Andréane Meunier, Marie-Dominique Michaud, Christopher Stewart, and Perry Voulgaris.
