Canada and Scotland launch $300,000 codevelopment incentive
Toronto, September 5, 2019 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) announced today a new funding incentive for the codevelopment of screen-based projects between Canadian and Scottish producers. A total of CAD$300,000 (approximately £185,000) is being made available to support the development of digital media and television projects. Click here to access the guidelines.

We look forward to seeing what exciting projects will be developed through this program.”

To be eligible, television projects must be live-action or animated codevelopment television project that meet the CMF’s definition of either Drama or Documentary programming or a codevelopment project created for digital platforms, including, but not limited to web series, video games, transmedia projects, virtual or augmented reality.
The total maximum contribution for each project funded through the Incentive shall be CAD$50,000 (approximately £31,000). However, the CMF contribution shall not exceed 75% of the Canadian development budget and the HIE contribution shall not exceed 75% of the Scottish development budget.

Application process
All applications must comply with the Incentive Guidelines, which are available on the CMF website. Please click here to view them. The deadline to apply is December 10, 2019. Decisions will be announced on January 24, 2020.
