CMF announces $4.5M investment in nine digital media projects

Toronto, December 13, 2017 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today a $4.5M investment for the production of nine innovative digital media projects that applied for funding to the Experimental Stream Commercial Projects Pilot Program.

Of the projects receiving an investment as part of this program seven are Games and two are Rich Interactive Media. Of the companies developing these projects Alberta and British Columbia each have one, while four are based in Ontario and three in Québec.   

The Experimental Stream encourages the creation of innovative, interactive digital media content and software applications. Including this latest round of funding, the CMF has invested $191M in the production of 337 interactive digital media projects since the Experimental Stream was created in 2010.

Funding through the Commercial Projects Pilot Program is designed to support Canadian interactive, innovative and leading-edge digital media content and software applications which have an increased emphasis on commercial success.
