CMF, Film Fund Luxembourg invest nearly $882.5K in four co-productions
Toronto and Luxembourg, March 6, 2025 — The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Film Fund Luxembourg (FFL) today announced a joint investment of $882,540 (approximately €574,393) in four projects. Two of these are at the development stage, and two are moving into production.

The projects receiving development funding are Welcome to Earth, an animated feature film by Canada's Productions des années lumière and Luxembourg's Zeilt Production; and Algorythme, an animated series by Canada's Films Extérieur Jour and Luxembourg's Zeilt Production.
The projects awarded production funding are Ghost Ship, an XR project from Canada's Telescope Films and Luxembourg's Skill Lab; and Whispering Forest, also an XR project from Canada's Jaxa Production and Luxembourg's Iris Productions.
The Canada-Luxembourg Co-development and Co-production Incentive for Audiovisual Projects supports the co‑development of television projects (fiction and animation), animated feature films, and digital media projects, as well as the co‑production of digital media projects (AR / VR / transmedia projects and new technologies) involving production companies from the two countries.

Film Fund Luxembourg encourages and promotes the development of the audiovisual production sector in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Since 2012, Film Fund Luxembourg offers only one support mechanism for audiovisual productions to be carried out by a Luxembourg registered film production company. The National Audiovisual Production Support (AFS) is a selective scheme which provides discretionary loans to producers to finance development and scriptwriting, distribution and production/coproduction for fiction, animation, documentaries, short films, transmedia projects, and XR projects repayable from the finished work’s receipts.
