CMF, Film Fund Luxembourg reopen joint co-development and co-production incentive
Toronto and Luxembourg, August 27, 2024 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Film Fund Luxembourg (FFL) today announced the seventh edition of the Canada-Luxembourg Co-development and Co-production Incentive for Audiovisual Projects.
The program supports the co‑development of television projects (fiction and animation), animated feature films, and digital media projects, as well as the co‑production of digital media projects (AR / VR / transmedia projects and new technologies) involving production companies from the two countries. New this year: projects that have previously received funding from the CMF or FFL can apply for funding, provided that this application is not for the same activities or phase of work previously funded.

The program’s budget for this year is $800,000 (approximately €530,000), with each organization contributing half. The maximum combined contribution for each funded development project (television, animated feature film, or digital media) is $100,000 and the total maximum combined contribution for each digital media project at the production stage is $500,000 (approximately €66,000 and €330,000, respectively).
A committee of CMF and FFL representatives will evaluate all eligible projects according to a set of criteria, including cultural value, the target audience, track record, and feasibility.
Finding a co-producer
We invite Canadian producers interested in finding a foreign partner for this program to publish their company profile using the CMF's ‘Find a Co-Producer' tool. Profiles will be available to anyone visiting the site, including potential partners in other countries.
Application process
All applications must comply with the incentive’s guidelines. The deadline for applications is December 3, 2024. Funding decisions will be announced in January 2025.

Film Fund Luxembourg encourages and promotes the development of the audiovisual production sector in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Since 2012, Film Fund Luxembourg offers only one support mechanism for audiovisual productions to be carried out by a Luxembourg registered film production company.
