Statement from the Canada Media Fund on the passing of Sandra Faire

Toronto, March 1, 2019 – It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of Sandra Faire – an outstanding leader in Canada’s audiovisual industry, a passionate advocate for the Canadian creative sector, an award-winning television producer and well-known philanthropist.

“At each stage of her stellar career, Sandra left her indelible mark in helping to build the Canadian audiovisual sector,” said Valerie Creighton, President and CEO, CMF. “A role model for women in the industry, her work has inspired future generations of women producers. We offer our most sincere condolences to her husband Ivan Fecan, their family, and all who were close to her.”

Ms. Faire was Executive Producer of extremely successful and long-running programs such as Comedy Now!, a CMF-funded program, which aired between 1997 and 2001.
