Three digital media projects to receive over $534K through Canada-Germany Digital Media Incentive
Toronto and Berlin, August 26, 2024 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB) today announced a joint investment of $534,250 (approximately €353,188) in three interactive digital media (IDM) projects through our Canada-Germany Digital Media Incentive.
The first successful Canadian applicant, Ontario’s Antica Productions Ltd., secured development funding for an interactive animated anthology series led with German co-producer Gtvdocs GmbH.
Quebec-based Tobo Inc. and their German co-producer Telescope Game Studios UG obtained production funding for an interactive children's book.
Lastly, B.C.-based Shadow Box Cinema Inc. and their German co-producer Syncreality GmbH received development funding for an interactive multiplatform experience.
The total CMF commitment for this edition of the program is $277,100, and the MBB’s is $257,150 (approximately €183,343 and €170,000, respectively).
The Canada-Germany Digital Media Incentive supports the co-development and co-production of digital media projects between Canadian and Berlin-Brandenburg-based German producers. Projects must be created for digital platforms and can be either a game, a web series, multiplatform content, augmented reality, or virtual reality experience.
