In line with the goals of the Sector Development Support program, a majority of the selected projects hail from outside the main cultural production hubs of Toronto and Montreal. Five projects will be led out of Quebec, four out of Manitoba, two out of British Columbia, and one each out of Alberta, Nova Scotia, the Northwest Territories, and Ontario. English-language initiatives will receive 67 per cent of the funding, and French-language or bilingual ones will receive 33 per cent.

Our Sector Development Support program is project-based funding to support industry initiatives which demonstrate the potential to positively impact Canada’s audiovisual ecosystem by addressing industry gaps in distinct and identified areas, including Canada’s regions and Indigenous and Equity-Deserving Communities. A second funding round opens on November 4, 2025.
