CMF invests $1.25M in market access, capacity building initiatives through fall 2025 round of Sector Development Support program
Toronto, May 14, 2026 — The Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced the projects selected for funding through the fall 2025 round of the Sector Development Support program. 24 market access and capacity building initiatives from eight provinces and territories will receive a total of $1.25M as a result of this round of funding.
Nine of the selected projects hail from Quebec, seven from Ontario, three from British Columbia, and one each from Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, and the Northwest Territories. Seven initiatives will be lead in French, and 17 in English.
2026– 2027 Sector Development Support open to applications soon
As announced in April, the Sector Development Support program will allocate funding through two distinct streams in 2026– 2027: Workforce Advancement and Organizational Advancement. Each stream will have a single application window :
- Workforce Advancement: May 29 to June 5, 2026
- Organizational Advancement: July 5 to 10, 2026
