(Toronto, December 16, 2015) – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today that 24 interactive digital media projects received a total of $14.3M in funding as part of the second round of production support from the 2015-2016 Experimental Stream. The Experimental Stream encourages the creation of innovative, interactive digital media content and software applications.

Consumers will have access to a variety of new interactive digital media content including 15 games, 3 platforms using virtual reality, and 6 software applications. Of the 24 productions, 2 are from British Columbia, 1 from Newfoundland & Labrador, 1 from Nova Scotia, 4 from Ontario, and 16 from Québec.

Including this round of funding, the CMF has already provided more than $144.0M in production funding to 254 projects since the Experimental Stream was created in 2010.

Production support provides funding for the creation of a final, market-ready version of an eligible project and preliminary marketing and commercialization activities.
