18 projects to receive over $8M through Indigenous Program
Ohsweken and Toronto, November 12, 2025 — The Indigenous Screen Office (ISO) and the Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced the production-stage projects selected for funding through the Indigenous Program. This is the first selection to take place since the ISO began overseeing the management of applications, funding, and other components of the program. Announced in June 2024, the transfer of the program’s administration marks an important step in upholding the rights of Indigenous Peoples to tell their own stories, narrative sovereignty, and reconciliation.
A total of $8,032,700 has been allocated to 18 projects—eight of them in the Documentary genre, seven Children and Youth productions, and three Drama projects.
Three projects will be produced in Alberta, two in BC, two in Manitoba, six in Nunavut, one in Ontario, three in Quebec, and one in Saskatchewan.
The Indigenous Program supports the growth of Indigenous audiovisual production across the country through the allocation of pre-development, development, and production funding. Decisions are made through selective processes administered by the ISO.
