Canadian Heritage releases CMF Program Evaluation Report
(Toronto – December 14, 2015) The Canada Media Fund (CMF) announced today the publication of an Evaluation Report by the Department of Canadian Heritage (PCH), released on November 20.
The evaluation, which covers the first four years of the program, from 2010-2011 to 2013-2014, was led by the Evaluation Services Directorate (ESD) at PCH, with the assistance of the Department’s Policy Research Group (PRG) and an external consulting firm.
The evaluation’s objective was to provide DCH with comprehensive and reliable evidence to support its decision-making. Based on an array of evaluation methods (including, amongst others, a literature review, key informant reviews, case studies and an expert panel), the comprehensive report covers a wide range of areas, including the relevance, performance, economy and efficiency of the CMF.
The CMF is pleased with the conclusions of the report, including the CMF’s responsiveness to the needs of Canadians, alignment with the Government of Canada’s priorities and to federal roles and responsibilities. The report also includes short and long-term recommendations that the CMF is actively discussing with PCH.
