CMF and Spcine launch new immersive media codevelopment incentive

Toronto/São Paulo, December 1, 2020 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and Spcine, the agency responsible for media funding in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, launched a joint program that encourages codevelopment and prototyping of immersive media projects. “For Brazilian creators joining forces with Canadian producers in the co-development of immersive project will present an excellent opportunity to more deeply explore this market, the culture, and bring them together. The incentive budget is set at CAN$ 100,000 (or approximately BRL 400,000), to which each organization will contribute half of the total amount. Projects must involve at least one São Paulo-based production company and one Canadian production company.

Eligible projects are international codevelopment or prototyping project of immersive content that are either a virtual reality, augmented reality or mixed reality project; are innovative or experimental; are developed on an appropriate platform (or platforms) with regards to content and audiences; and focus on storytelling that has the potential to cross national boundaries and carries cultural content.
