CMF completes corporate reorganization and welcomes new executive team

Toronto, June 11, 2019 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced it has completed its corporate reorganization process. A number of existing team members will take on new leadership roles with added responsibilities and two new executive positions were created.

“The CMF embarked on a reorganization process at the leadership level to ensure we continue being responsive to current market needs and the strategic objectives set by the Board of Directors,” said Valerie Creighton, President and CEO, CMF. “I’m confident the new structure will allow us to move forward in an effective way as we deliver on our commitments to support, develop and promote Canada’s screen-based industry, as well as our country’s creative talent and content.”

Sandra Collins, previously Chief Financial Officer and Vice-president of Operations is taking on the expanded role of Chief Operating Officer, contributing to the oversight of the entire organization’s operations.

Nathalie Clermont, CMF’s former Director, Programs Management is taking on the newly created role of Vice-president, Programs and Business Development, with a focus on developing alternative funding partnerships to leverage CMF investments in television and digital media content.

A new role of Vice-president, Communications and Promotions was created to oversee CMF’s marketing and communications with an added focus to promote the exceptional content and talent made in Canada with audiences here and around the world. Mathieu Chantelois, a Montréal native, former entertainment reporter, and executive at Cineplex Media and in the non-profit sector is joining the CMF Toronto team in this role.

Rod Butler, previously Manager, Program Policies is taking on the role of Director, Programs and Policy, with a focus on developing the policies that govern CMF programs.

Svitlana Levit, CMF’s former Finance Manager is the new Director, Finance and Administration, overseeing the corporation’s finances and administration.

Catherine Mathys remains in the senior management team as Director, Industry and Market Trends.

The newly created position of Chief Strategy Officer will be filled and announced at a later date.
