Thanks to the $100.4M in Government of Canada COVID-19 Emergency Relief Funds administered by the CMF, businesses in the audiovisual industry were able to maintain operations, ensuring a quick return to production.
Informed by consultations with industry members and producers from sovereignty- and equity-seeking communities, the CMF disbursed $9M through two different initiatives supporting racialized creators.
In the last fiscal year, the CMF:
- Funded 1,309 projects
- Distributed $100.4 million in emergency funds to over 1,200 companies and organizations
- Celebrated 219 awards won by CMF funded projects
- Funded 30 productions that saw over 1 million views each
