CMF invests nearly $7M in 23 documentary projects through POV Program
Toronto, August 27, 2025 — The Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced an investment of $6,966,000 in the production of 23 documentaries through our POV Program.
Eight of the funded documentaries will be produced in French and will receive a total of $2,295,000. The other 15 will be in English and receive a total of $4,671,000. 12 of the successful applicants are Quebec-based production companies, six are established in Ontario, two are in British Columbia, one is in Alberta, one is operating in the Yukon, and one in Newfoundland and Labrador. One of the projects is a Newfoundland and Labrador-Ontario co-production.
Through a selective process, the POV Program allocates funding to one-off, point-of-view (POV) documentary productions in English and in French.
