CMF releases podcast series: Now & Next

Toronto, October 16, 2018 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF), released today the first episode of its original podcast series entitled Now & Next. The podcast will include in-depth interviews with experts providing a closer look at emerging trends, as well as the digital transformation of the media and entertainment industry. Now & Next is produced by the Canada Media Fund and hosted by digital media researcher and experienced radio personality, Leora Kornfeld.

Some examples of themes that will be discussed throughout the season include the distribution of content via YouTube, the use of the blockchain to bring back value to digital assets, podcasts as a new medium, Wattpad and the use of consumer data, among other topics.

On the first episode of Now & Next, Mark Swierszcz, Operations Lead at the Toronto YouTube Space, discusses the business opportunities YouTube has to offer producers and talent. This conversation offers a detailed portrait of the platform's roadmap for creators.

The podcast is available on the CMF Trends website, Soundcloud and major podcasting platforms including iTunes, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, and others. Episodes will be published every other week, starting October 16, and the initial series will consist of a total of six episodes.

For the time being, Now & Next is available in English, but full transcripts of episode will be available on the CMF Trends website, in French and English. The CMF Trends team is currently working on a French adaptation, which will be published in the coming months.
