CMF, SODEC to invest $3M in nine Children and Youth animated series from Quebec

Toronto and Montreal, February 6, 2025 — The Canada Media Fund (CMF) and the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC) today announced a $3M investment in nine Quebec-made animation series for Children and Youth audiences. The selected projects will be produced in 2D animation, 3D animation, and stop motion.  

These projects are: 

  • Albert, le lapin abstrait, by Embuscade Films ($94,500)  
  • Drama Queen, by Productions Squeeze Inc. ($438,000) 
  • Le blues du bayou, by RodeoFX Originals Inc. ($379,000)  
  • Les tout doux, by 10e Ave Productions Inc. with 10e Ave Animation, Unstandard Studio, and Touski Animation ($365,000)  
  • Ma maison-tête, by Productions Carpediem (VIII) Inc., with Studio Singing Frog ($420,000)  
  • Nebulous Stars, by Écho Média Inc. ($411,500) 
  • Pauline, by Productions Avenida Inc., with Loomi Animation ($250,000)  
  • Super ami, by Image-In Productions Inc. with Rayon FX ($204,000)  
  • Tribu 3000, by Happy Camper Média Inc. ($438,000)  

Announced in June 2024, the CMF-SODEC Prototyping of Children and Youth Animation Series Program is a new partnership that accelerates the creation of Quebec-made, original intellectual properties for Children and Youth animation series and facilitates their financing with broadcasters, distributors, and other national and international partners. The SODEC contributes $2M and the CMF contributes $1M to the program's budget.
