Save the Date: CMF announces cross-country consultation to gather stakeholder feedback

Toronto, July 19, 2018 - The Canada Media Fund (CMF) will embark on a cross-country consultation this fall as part of a comprehensive process to gather stakeholder feedback. The process will comprise a number of components, including focus groups in 18 cities, in all provinces and territories, as well as a series of industry working groups.

During the focus groups, all CMF stakeholders will have an opportunity to consider how significant shifts in content consumption habits, rapidly-evolving market conditions, as well as policy and regulatory changes will impact the CMF’s funding programs, particularly in light of the government’s Creative Canada Policy Framework and the recently-launched review of the Telecommunications and Broadcasting Acts.

Feedback received from stakeholders will contribute to shaping CMF policy and programs for the foreseeable future.
