Distributor Program

The CMF has made changes to the Distributor Catalogue & Sales/Audience Reach Form for the Distributor Program this year and strongly recommends that all Applicants to the Distributor Program carefully review the Form and follow the examples provided before submitting their applications. If Applicants have any questions, they should contact the CMFPA.

The CMF understands Eligible Canadian Distributors may wish to keep their gross sales information confidential. Non-related Distributors (i.e. Eligible Canadian Distributors who are not related to Applicants) that want their projects to compete for “Eligible Distributor Track Record” points in the Program’s Evaluation Grid may  submit their Distributor Catalogue & Sales/Audience Reach Form directly to the CMFPA via email to [email protected]. For all other cases where confidentiality is not a concern, the Form can be submitted with the required application documents via the Dialogue platform.

The Distributor Program is a pilot initiative designed to offer more flexibility to Applicants by allowing financial contributions from Eligible Canadian Distributors to unlock CMF funds without the requirement of a Canadian Broadcaster.

The objective of this Program is to open the CMF to a wider array of Applicants and market tests that may not have participated in the CMF’s funding system before and to offer creative financing solutions so more Canadian content will be seen in Canada and internationally.

Interim Financing

Applicants may choose to opt for interim financing, which involves assigning payments under the financing agreement to a bank as security. If you intend to access interim financing, complete the Notice and Direction form and forward it to your business analyst. If you are in Quebec, you will also have to forward a copy of the hypothec to your business analyst.
