Toronto, September 24, 2020 – For the fourth year in a row, the Canada Media Fund (CMF) and the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF), an agency of the Department of Sports, Arts and Culture of the Republic of South Africa, have renewed their dedicated incentive for the codevelopment of television projects between Canadian producers and South African producers.

Montreal, September 21, 2020 – The film and television production branch of the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC), in collaboration with the Canada Media Fund (CMF), will support 15 projects under its assistance program for the pre-development of television series based on literary adaptations of Quebec works, following the July 17 announcement.

Part of the Government of Canada’s Phase 2 COVID-19 Emergency Support designated for the cultural, heritage and sport sectors, a total of $19M are being made available through an Audiovisual Allocation.

Toronto, September 1, 2020 - Funding by the Canada Medua Fund (CMF) triggered $1.4B in industry activity across the country, according to its newly published 2019-2020 Annual Report. The report also finds that $1 of CMF funding generated $4.12 in production activity, the highest leverage ratio since the CMF was created in 2010.

This is part of the $27.8M in funding that was designated for Canada’s audiovisual sector as part of Phase 2 of the COVID-19 Emergency Support Fund for Cultural, Heritage and Sport Organizations by the Government of Canada.
