CMF commits nearly $4M for the prototyping of 18 digital media projects
Toronto, August 9, 2024 – The Canada Media Fund (CMF) today announced a total investment of $3,947,002 for the prototyping of 18 Canadian interactive digital media (IDM) projects. This sum is allocated through the spring 2024 round of funding for our Prototyping Program.
The selected applicants for this round include three companies based in Alberta, one in British Columbia, six in Ontario, one in Nova Scotia, and seven in Quebec. The projects in development are fourteen video games, three interactive and/or interactive experiences, and one software application.

The Prototyping Program allocates funding to projects at the early stages of building a product to demonstrate its intended functionalities and design. Specifically, this phase is for experimenting, testing, and validating different concepts and hypotheses to arrive at a first functional prototype.
Potential applicants are invited to apply for prototyping funding through the program’s fall 2024 round opening on September 17.
